The children's sculpture of Jesus
The work was completed as part of the Sheffield Children's Festival, through which the children have had the chance to work with professional artists. This year we chose to work with a local sculptor Simon Kent, whose work can be seen in the Botanical Gardens and Hillsborough Park.
It was a chance for all the children to take part in an exciting arts project that offered a completely different experience and certainly one that would never be offered through the school's art curriculum! Participation in Community Arts Projects through Sheffield Children's Festival, working with 'experts' is something that we will endeavour organise to each year providing we are successful in applying for funding.
